The village
Furore, the village with no square
Furore is no ordinary village: it has no square, but daring houses scattered across the cliffs, linked by hundreds of steps. It is the Amalfi Coast at its strongest and most authentic, suspended between the sky and an impossibly blue sea.
Its emblem is the Fiordo di Furore: a narrow inlet wedged between two rock faces, crossed by a bridge seventy metres above the sea, with the fishermen's little beach at the bottom. It is three kilometres from the villa and the most photographed spot on the coast.
None of the crowds of Positano, no throng. Yet everything that makes this coastline legendary: breathtaking views, excellent wine, outstanding food, and trails that cross terraced vineyards to the edge of the world.

Getting here
Private parking sits on the road just below the house: from there it is seventy steps up to the villa. Coming in from the bend above it is only thirty — the same steps that lead to the bus stop for Amalfi, where ferries and coaches fan out along the whole coast.
